National Education Minister Mahmud Ozar thanked Environment, Urban Development and Climate Change Minister Murat Kurum for his support in the “Hazare Eco-Friendly School Project” campaign at OSTIM Primary School.

In this context, firstly, we have identified one thousand schools, at least one in all districts. Our goal here is not limited to 1000 schools. We wanted to have at least one school that is environmentally friendly in all points of Turkey. Applying the exercises and carrying all the examples in his body. “Our goal is to start with 1000 schools and make our 57,108 schools environmentally friendly. While this may seem like a very modest start, its ultimate goal is to cover our entire education system. “
Explaining the scope of the project, solar panels and rainwater harvesting units will be installed in all schools, Özer said: “Rainwater will be used in gardens and various school locations. In other words, our students will be at home or at school with their teachers. They will experience how recycled unused materials will be rehearsed and will be faced with the practice. Kids will grow plants in the school garden with them. This will make our schools environmentally friendly schools where zero waste culture is widespread. Within the scope of the project, our support will be provided by the Ministry, all school administrators and teachers in 1000 schools. I believe this is a very valuable project for our country. “
In his speech, Minister for Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum said that they have taken very valuable steps with the Ministry of National Education to address the concerns of children of all ages in the fight against climate change.
