Expatriates from member countries of the Organization of Turkish States reunite after eight years, organized by the Presidency for Turkish Abroad and Related Communities (YTB). March 28-29-30 Bursa will host the 2nd Diaspora Forum, 2nd Inter-Institutional Experience Sharing Program and Nowruz activities of the Organization of Turkish States (TDT). YTB operates as a key stakeholder in the organization’s operations, with a huge expatriate potential of 20 million expatriates.
Since the founding of YTB, for Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, which are countries of the Organization of Turkish States; 105 projects have been implemented in the fields of education, youth, transport, health, economy, justice, education and culture.
In 2013, YTB sponsored and distributed 9,000 copies of the book “Candila of Our Civilization” published by the Azerbaijan Youth Aid Foundation.
In a meeting held on 10 June 2021 in collaboration with YTB and the Azerbaijan State Committee for Expatriates, the issues facing the expatriate organizations of the two countries, proposals for solutions and the process of cooperation were discussed.
Common values passed on to the younger generation
“Every child is a plane tree project” was implemented in collaboration with YTB and the Azerbaijani Youth Support Fund. Through the project, the aim was to introduce scientists who grew up in Turkish-Islamic civilization and to pass on to the younger generation the common cultural and scientific values of the two fraternal countries.
To address the lack of a permanent work where the history of Azerbaijani thought is recorded, a book entitled “Azerbaijani Intellectual History” was published.
Within the scope of the “28th Anniversary of the Khojali Genocide Remembrance Program” conducted by the Turkish Scouting Federation in 2020, an activity called “Khojali Genocide Remembrance March” supported by YTB.
In the online event “Understanding 1915 Events and Understanding the 1992 Khojali Genocide” organized in collaboration with YTB and the Azerbaijan State Committee for the Diaspora, a seminar was given to about 100 young people about the events of 1915 and the Khojali genocide.
Dormitory project for university students in Azerbaijan
The university dormitory was rented in 2013-2014 and 2015, through a project conducted with YTB and the Society for Friendship and Civil Aspects with Turkish Language States.
In conjunction with a project run by the Youth Aid Foundation, a book entitled “Our Spiritual Values” was prepared and published for teaching in primary and secondary schools in Azerbaijan.

History of the Azerbaijan Thought Book Project
The study, entitled “Azerbaijani Intellectual History”, was realized within the scope of the project, which was organized to explore the roots of Azerbaijani-Turkish relations and to address the lack of a permanent work that records the history of Azerbaijani thought.
Turkey’s experience against Kovid-19 has been shared
Within the scope of the project carried out by YTB with the Uzbekistan Strategy Development Center, our country’s experience in the fight against Kovid-19 was transferred to doctors from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan in a 2-day training.
The program, entitled “My place in the future relations between the two sister states (Turkey and Uzbekistan) and their future relations”, ensured the sharing of knowledge and experience among more than 40 Uzbek students pursuing postgraduate studies in Turkey.
Experience sharing with healthcare professionals
On April 8-12, 2019, with the project “Turkish World Emergency Medicine Education” with the Medical Students Association, the emergency services organization for patients and nurses, health workers and other health workers in Uzbekistan with patients and disaster management training in the emergency room.
On 13-14 February 2021, “1. Turkish World Medical Students Workshop” was held on 14 March, in collaboration with YTB, University of Health Sciences and Medical Students Association.
Sets containing 200 books each prepared by YTB were sent to Oriental Institute, Uzbekistan National Library, Silk Road International Tourism University and Samarkand School of Foreign Languages.
The Uzbek Youth Forum was held on December 18, 2021 at the Yıldız Technical University Congress Center in collaboration with the Uzbek Youth Affairs Organization in collaboration with YTB and the Uzbek Consulate General in Istanbul.
In December 2020, YTB TIKA, in collaboration with the Islamic Development Bank, the University of Health Sciences, and the March 14 Medical Association, organized a laparoscopic surgery course online training program. More than 1000 participants from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan have benefited from this program.
Support for the education of the youth in Ahiske
YTB supported Kazakhstan University entrance exam preparation courses to increase the success of Ahika youth living in Kazakhstan in higher education institutions and to ensure equal opportunities for education.
The Turkey-Kazakhstan Civilization Bridge project was implemented on 20 July-20 August 2016, in collaboration with Fatih Sultan Mehmet Foundation University and Ahmet Yasevi University, to promote common historical and cultural values among Kazakh-Turkish youth, academics. , Researchers and experts.
A project called “The Intangible Cultural Heritage of Uyghurs: The Case of Almaty” was organized to identify, compile and promote the rich cultural heritage of the Uyghurs. Within the scope of the project, the data obtained as a result of extensive field research in districts, cities, villages and surrounding areas inhabited by Uyghurs within the borders of Kazakhstan’s Almaty Province were compiled and presented to interested parties in the book.
Ashiska Exhibition Commemoration Ceremony
On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of Meskhetian exile, a group of young and old people from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan visited Meskhetian together with the support of YTB and organized a commemorative ceremony in their homeland.
For the 75th anniversary of the Meskhetian exile organized by YTB at the Presidential Complex on 10 December 2019 in Ankara; The participation of deported witnesses from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan was supported.
Expatriate cooperation agreement signed
On November 8, 2018, at the Ministerial / Presidents Summit of the Turkish Council Diaspora Organization, a cooperation protocol on expatriates was signed between YTB and the Otandastar Foundation, an equivalent organization in Kazakhstan.
Between 26-28 April 2019, Meskhetian Turks living in different parts of Kyrgyzstan visited the tomb of Ahmet Yesevi in Kazakhstan with the help of YTB.
Successful students selected from more than 2000 students who participated in the Anatolian school’s writer reading program and read Genghis Aitmatov went to Kyrgyzstan to increase their knowledge and experience, which was the subject and inspiration of Ayatmatov’s work between 8-13 September 2019.
Kyrgyz editors and journalists took part in a 2-week media training organized in collaboration with Anadolu Agency and YTB.
Based on the intention of the Kyrgyz party to establish an organization that will work on its own expatriates, it was confirmed that representatives of Kyrgyz organizations were brought to our country in 2014 to share experiences with our organizations working in the field of expatriates.
Eurasia Youth School
The Eurasia Youth School was organized for the students of the sister community living in Eurasia to build the necessary human resources in their country and to contribute to the development of their country’s relations with Turkey in each case. 35 young participants came to our country with the Eurasia Youth School project.
Turkish World Young Academic Congress
With the support of YTB, the Young Academics Congress of the Turkish World was held on 24-26 December 2021, at the Presidential National Library Congress Center of the Young Academics Union. The Turkish World Education Science Congress was held on 24-26 November 2021 at Gazi University.
Meeting of the Eurasian think tank
YTB and Ahmet Yasevi University Eurasia Research Institute organized a Eurasian Think Tank meeting in November 2016 to bring together think tanks working in Eurasian countries and to develop their cooperation.
To date, 18,656 international students from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan have provided education in our country. Currently, 1429 students are pursuing their education at undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels in various universities in Turkey. More than 14,000 people who have completed their education and joined the family of alumni of Turkey act as a bridge between their country and Turkey and contribute to the development of their countries.
It will play a positive role in establishing cooperation among Turkish elite expatriates, the knowledgeable and citizen expatriates who face the same problems as racism and Islamophobia, and whose total number is close to 20 million, will be widely represented in such a forum. And general solutions have been evaluated.
Also, within the scope of the event, the Diaspora Inter-Agency 2 experience sharing program will be conducted. On the last day of the event, guests will participate in the inaugural event (Nevruz Event) of Bursa, the cultural capital of the Turkish world, organized by Turkswai and the Bursa Metropolitan Municipality.
