World Peace Envoy Turgut Kamaj, the son of Hussein Kamaj, who died at the age of 110, presented the world’s oldest elder and attended ceremonies in Chanakkale, Kastamonu, Istanbul and Chanakkale in Chanakkale and commemorating various events. Months
Revealing that he had made a presentation to 16,000 students, Kamaz met with Interior Minister Suleiman Soylu, National Defense Minister Hulusi Aker, and Industries and Technology Minister Mustafa Varanak.
Kamaz says he presented Minister Acker with a picture he had taken with his teachers and friends at the primary school, which he saw for the first time.
Karadeniz Aregili, the world’s oldest living person, died in 1994 at the age of 110, the son of Hussein Kamaz, a soldier under Ataturk, UN world peace envoy Turgut Kamaz, returned to the county after 32 days to visit the country.
Evaluating the events, presentations and interviews he had with our correspondent, Kamaz noted that he had presented to a total of 16,000 students, including secondary and high school students in Kayseri, Castamonu and Istanbul.
Explaining that the events were organized by the governorships and schools and the Ministry of Youth and Sports planned the event in Castamonu, Kamaz said he had met three ministers during the March 18 event that he had attended in Chanakkale.
He attends similar events every year and will participate in May and June, Turgut Kamaz said, adding that he passed on the memory of Atatুrk and his father’s war to future generations and provided the following information about his presentation and activities;
“My program, which I started in Caesarea in the third week of February by invitation, recently ended in Kanakkale. I first went to Caesarea and stayed for 13 days. I presented at 4 places in Caesarea.
Then I went to Kastamnu. I presented at the Costamonu Governorship event of the Ministry of Youth and Sports. I made presentations to students and teachers at the Ugur School in Istanbul and attended the March 18 event in Canakkale.
After the ceremony in Chanakkale, I gave the group photo I took with her elementary school teacher and friends to National Defense Minister Hulusi Akar. She is surprised and delighted. He also posted the picture, which he saw for the first time, on his social media.
On the occasion, we met with three ministers. Home Minister Suleiman Soylu said, “Let’s do this together next year.” The same thing was said by the Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar. I said I don’t want a car or anything.
I just need a place to stay. I love doing it. I said, I’m covering the transport in my own way. I had a brief chat with the Minister of Industry and Technology Mostafa Varanak, who attended the events in Chanakkale.
I will go to another program in Istanbul, if I can, in May, after Eid al-Fitr. From there I will go to Karabuk-Safranbolu.
‘My eyes are open, my ears are in Enebolu’
‘I will participate in 95 km walk’
I will go to Kastmanu in June. I will take part in the walk by presenting there. Atatর্rk has a saying, ‘My eyes are in Sakaria, my ears are in Enebolu’.
We will walk 4 days and 3 nights from Inebolu district to Castamonu.
I took part in this walk last year. Participation was limited due to the epidemic. They say there will be a thousand people this year. Distance 95 km.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports organized the event. Thanks again to the Ministry of Sports. In the past, these walks were not held. These activities took place on the street that Atatুrk walked on.
Similar programs are being carried out in other regions. I agree with many. People are coming from different cities and towns. The young man who does not know his past does not know his future or knows it incompletely. We need to encourage our youth.
It is not enough to read about Chanakkala in the book, you have to tell Chanakkala to Chanakkala. We need to bring our youth there by organizing such events. I have done similar activities here. We took a break during the epidemic. I hope to start again this year.
I bring students who have graduated in drawing, composition and poetry competitions to Chanakkale with their teachers. Every year we go with different students.
In the cities I’ve visited, most mayors say they will do the same. If I’m available, they want me to come too.
“That’s why we lost the Balkan Wars and won the Kanakkel and the Liberation War …”
In Kayseri, Castamonu, Istanbul and Kanakkala programs, I gave student lectures about Atatর্কrk and my father.
I talked about war and what my father told me. Also, I talked to them about the importance of unity and said that no matter what you do, do it with love, if you do without love you will not succeed.
I used to ask my father about the Balkan war, why did we lose? He used to say that we lost the Balkan wars because there was no unity, but we won because there was unity in Chanakkal, Dumlupinar and Sakaria around Atatর্rk.
My father sees Atatুrk from afar. When the war of independence ended, all the troops gathered in Bursa, my father Mustafa Kemal brought the documents to Atatর্rk. Until his last breath he would say how he greeted Atatুrk and how he spoke with the same feeling.
My father was one of those who truly loved his motherland, race, flag, and Mustafa Kemal Atatুrk, not words. I am one of those who love him as his son. For this reason, I am traveling from city to city to inform the new generation about my father, the war and Atatুrk. I will keep going as long as I can.
These wars would not have been won without Atatর্কrk, world history would not have been like this, republics would not have been established, you would have been born, but your name would not have been Turgut Kamaz, but Nico, Yorgo, another Pavro or any other name.
“They asked Atatুrk, he said.”
They ask Atatুrk, ‘Can you tell me about Chanakkala?’ Atatুrk said, “It is not described in Kanakkal, it lives among the martyrs in Chanakkal and Chanakkal.” Still, he says I can’t help but bomb his back. Boma Ridge is a martyr of the 57th Regiment. This is where the statue of my father Hussein Kamaj is located.
‘The distance between the trenches is eight meters. All those who fell in the first ditch were martyred. Those who see it in the second trench. They know they will be martyred in three minutes, but there is no fear, no trembling. Those who know the Qur’an read it, those who do not know the Qur’an bring the word shahada. It is this consciousness that has brought victory to Chanakkala, he said.
Sivas, a young man from Istanbul studying medicine, went to Sivas with the pocket money given to him by his friends.
He asked Atatর্rk for permission to listen to Congress, some members of Congress said, “Let’s accept the American mandate and some delegates accept the British mandate, we have no salvation anymore.”
He took the young man out and said, ‘I have not come here to hear about buffalo. If we young people are united, we will conquer this homeland around Atatুrk.
Mandate is unacceptable. As long as we maintain unity in this country today, no one in the world can do anything for us.
This is how we won the Kanakkale and the War of Independence. My father drew attention to this aspect.
‘We are blessed and free because they are fighting suicide’
In Chanakkal, our ancestors, some days there was no sugar-free grape compote in the morning, no lunch, no soup from the wheat field in the evening, some days were full and some days there was half bread and some food. Bread was the reason for the lack of flour.
Since our grandfathers knew he was hungry, we are full now … we have lost 253,000 martyrs in Chanakkale. We are independent because our grandfathers took the risk of being martyred.
I want everyone to go to Chanakkal. Let them go to Seddulbahir, in the bloody stream, to the fiftieth regiment. Let them go to Konak Bay, where Atatুrk was wounded.
Let them shout and say this land is ours, no one can share it. Bring their children too.
We have defeated their so-called invincible forces at Chanakkale. “
Don’t run away, let’s not be committed!
Turgut Kamaj said that according to the data announced by the Ministry of Health, the corona virus epidemic has decreased and measures have been relaxed with the onset of summer.
Note that the mask is free in the open air, but indoors, where ventilation is not sufficient and it should be worn in crowded environments, Kamaz reminds that vaccinations should be done; “Although the corona virus epidemic has decreased in recent days, we need to follow the rules without being complacent. Wear a mask and get vaccinated.
I had five strokes, “he said.
