Last minute warning for anyone with a car! The system has completely changed, it protects against scammers. One explanation after another came. The new system, which protects both the buyer and the seller from danger, is also financially very convenient. We all know about the ‘tele-scammers’ who tried to steal their money by calling on the phone and pretending to be police and prosecutors. But this time the situation is a little different.
Those who appear at this time are ‘auto scammers’.
They just use the telephone … They say they are ‘teachers’ to some, ‘police’ to others and ‘non-commissioned officers’ to others, but their methods are both more credible and more creative.
Here is the story of the last fraud, which you would say the devil would not even think, from the mouth of his victim, which does not look like a movie scene …
Like; Sakaria, Kokeli, one of the many cheating stories on the Istanbul line, has also happened in Kokeli in recent months.
First, the car is available for sale from advertising sites and bargaining is done
UE, who placed his 2013 model car on ad sites for sale for 180,000 lira, was deceived as follows:
‘I can’t come, I know the gallery will come and take me away’
The man who called UE from Edirne and introduced himself as a non-commissioned officer at a city barracks said, “I am not allowed. However, my father has a cousin who is a dealer. He has already done a lot of searching, but He did not find a car of this brand and model. If I ask you, they will come and take a car. ” They also have my power of attorney. They will buy and sell for me, “he said.
‘Don’t tell me the price, my dad is a good friend’
The fraudster, who used his so-called father as a tool for his dishonesty, warned, “However, my father allowed me to buy a car for up to 120,000 lira. If you pay 175,000 lira, I will buy it. I took it. The rest is debt. Unknown to my family.
After the UE’s response, “It’s okay for me, I’ll see what money I get”, the person who took the picture and the license image of the car he wanted to buy went to the next stage of his fraud.
Hamza Dizman, the owner of the car dealership, who was the victim of a similar scandal last month, said: “It turns out that neither the person selling the car nor the person I contacted on the phone knew each other.”
Do two things in the plan
In Kokley, the fraudster, who scanned dealerships near the address of the person who was going to buy the car from the Internet, arrived in the European Union, a dealer in the city for many years.
The fraudster, who lied to the EU that he was a member of the Turkish Armed Forces in charge of Edirne, said, “I have a car there. It belongs to my cousin. I want to sell it. Would you be interested if I posted? Pictures?” He asked.
Bought for 175 thousand and sold for 115 thousand!
Following a positive response from gallery owner AB, the fraudster, who sent the photos obtained from the UE, struck a deal to sell the car for 115,000 lira (which he said he would buy for 175,000 lira) after a long phone bargain. .
‘I told my father 115 thousand lira, don’t tell me’
The fraudster, who called the UK again after several reassuring phone calls, said: “I persuaded my father too. I bought the car for 175,000 lira. However, I told my father 115,000 lira. I will get 115 thousand from my father and the remaining 60 thousand from him. I will send it to you as 175 thousand lira in one piece, ”he said.
The fraudster, who sternly warned the victim UE, “Don’t tell my dad and his gallerist friend the number,” then called the gallerist AB.
The fraudster, who told AB the car was “yours”, ended the bargain by saying, “I’m selling it for 115,000 lira.” He specifically warned the EU, “There is a debt problem between me and my cousin who will transfer the car to you. We will be dissatisfied if you go into too much detail. You go and take the car and pay for it. Please.” Don’t interfere with the rest. “
Final stage of planning: Notary meeting
The galleryist’s response was “I don’t interfere …”, the next step.
The scammer, who reached out to someone who sold his car ‘over the price’ and a dealer who would buy the car ‘below the price’, and persuaded him on the phone, see how he finished …
Message of confidence with fake military identity …
The fraudster, who won ‘confidence’ by sending his fake military ID to the UK on WhatsApp, said, “I wasn’t going to send it to you, it was a mistake. I was sending it to my father’s friend for a transaction, but let it be with you,” then said, “Will you be able to take the car to my father’s friend’s gallery tomorrow morning? Take a look at the car and let the notary know at once. You will pass,” he claimed.
The alleged cousin of the fraudster’s father, believed to be a well-known and trusted dealer in the city, UE said without further ado, “Okay, I’ll take the car tomorrow morning and take my money.”
UE drove to AB’s showroom the next morning. After inspecting the car for a while, the EU said “it’s OK” and they went to the notary. Meanwhile, scammers often call these two and keep them busy.
Breaking point …
The fraudster asked UE, “Sell when you go to the notary. My father left 120,000 lira with his cousin who will come with you to the notary, dealership.”
UE, who befriends galleryist AB, with whom he chatted for about an hour and also had mutual friends, “Okay, you’re kidding, you can send a lot of money.”
At the notary, UE responds to Gallarist AB’s “I’m sending money” warning, “Send it, no problem. Send it so he can send it all”, and then call the fraudster over the phone. After the scammer says he checks his account, “The money has arrived. I have now completed it and forwarded it to your account”.
He found no money in his account, saw the fake receipt sent by the UE fraudster, said “EFT transaction takes half an hour”, and he thought, “Already known friend. Allan is also a Turkish member. Armed forces,” and without waiting too long to sell. Approved.
When the money doesn’t return to the account, he does nothing and goes to the gallery …
After Gallery left AB, Ui began to panic when he saw that he had not received any money in his account for half an hour.
Give your life a shock
UE, who immediately ran to the gallery and complained, “Can you call your cousin? I don’t have any money in my account yet.”
‘Aren’t you his cousin?’
When AB, the owner of the gallery, replied, “Dad … isn’t he your cousin? I don’t know him …” He realized he had been deceived.
When the dealer told UE, “Get well soon. He cheated on both of us …” UE said, “I cheated, and you bought a car at a reasonable price. Or are you involved?” When he responded, they started arguing.
They have realized the dual truth, which is in the police station, in the police station …
The remnants of the 175,000 lira car, which sold for 120,000 lira, were WhatsApp correspondence that entered the case file.
Be careful not to dream of fear!
In fact, you can do your business with peace of mind, thanks to the ‘Secure Sales System’ at notaries, without having to face this and similar scams.
Dursun Sin, president of the Notary Union of Turkey, explained the system, which prevents both buyers and sellers from falling prey.
Dursun Sin, who said, “Secure sales system is a very practical, easy, secure and cheap system,” summarizes the process step by step:
This system is currently used in the purchase and sale of vehicles. If the buyer-seller agrees to purchase and sell the car, they enter the notary union’s secure payment system from their phone or computer.
They can access the systems of any bank and secure payment company that has merged with us into a secure payment system. It doesn’t matter if the person works for the bank or chooses another bank
The application is created by entering the seller, buyer and vehicle information into the system. Following this application, a reference number is sent to the person by the concerned bank or paying institution.
With this reference number the buyer sends the cost of the vehicle to the bank or the escrow account assigned for the business of the secure payment institution. From the moment the money reaches there, the account is blocked.
No one will be able to touch the money until the sale is over
No buyer, seller, bank or notary will be able to touch the money until the sale is over. After the money was blocked in the account, the notary public was informed that “we will sell a car, we will use a secure payment system in this regard, we have entered the system of that bank”. The notary officer checks the system from the notary union system to see if the money is blocked.
Seeing the money being withheld, the notary sold it to the public. After the sales process is over, the notary goes to the cashier. Taylor’s officer checks again to see if the money is still blocked from the system. Seeing the money stuck, he cut the receipt.
Ownership of the vehicle changes as soon as the receipt is issued. When the receipt is issued to the notary public, the transaction is terminated. At the end of the transaction, ownership of the vehicle passes from the seller to the buyer.
Money is transferred to the seller’s account with one click
When the sale transaction is completed, the notary cashier sends a ‘transaction termination alert’ to the system of the bank or paying institution by pressing a button.
Following this warning, the system automatically transfers money from the blocked account to the seller’s account. No one sees money, no one argues about money. Buyers sometimes do EFT and then cancel it and show the seller a screenshot of the EFT. In this case, the seller is affected. With this system “you paid old money, you paid fake money, I sent EFT, how come it didn’t come to you” etc. The trouble disappears.
Security fights and fraud are eliminated
Discussions like “sign up first, I’ll pay you” or “give me money and then I’ll sign up” are very common in car buying and selling transactions at notaries. Since the parties do not trust each other, this disagreement may disrupt the transaction at the last minute. With secure payment systems, these discussions are eliminated.
How much does a secure sales system cost?
The price of this protected system is only 20 Turkish Lira. It may sound a bit detailed when explained, but its application is practical enough to take just a few minutes of your time.
Compulsory use by persons purchasing and selling vehicles
We want our citizens to use this system extensively and we recommend it to everyone. We have already entered into agreements with many banks. When buying and selling with a bank loan, banks automatically generate it through a secure payment system.
According to the regulations issued by the Ministry of Commerce, it is mandatory for those who deal with the purchase and sale of vehicles to perform their transactions through a secure payment system. (Freedom)
