The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has announced that schools for 405 million students in 23 countries are still partially or completely closed due to the Kovid epidemic.

The agency added that 147 million children could not attend at least half of the face-to-face classes.

Some vulnerable children, especially girls, could not return to open school.

UNICEF Executive Director Katherine Russell said the children were “people hiding in the epidemic”.
