Student at school, farmer on the field, Ayhan Teltik, provincial director of national education in Kayseri: “Conscious agriculture is important in food crisis and development”

Students studying agriculture at a high school in the Bunyan district of Kayseri are cultivating the field with the theoretical knowledge they have learned in school. Ayhan Teltik, the provincial director of national education in Kayseri, who visited the district to examine the students’ work, said “there is a great importance of agriculture in food crisis and development.”
A total of 49 students studying agriculture at the Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School in Byuktujhisa in the district are practicing in the field after receiving information about spray, weed control and planting operations in the school. Students, who prepare the planting site with a tractor, complete the planting process after cleaning with a spade. Saying that the school is a great benefit especially for children whose family is farmers, Ayhan Teltik, Provincial Director of National Education, said that it is important to take advantage of this opportunity to continue conscious agriculture for the students studying in the village.
Ayhan Teltik, the provincial director of national education in Kayseri, said they aimed to use the fields more efficiently through the training provided by the department, adding: They started moving to the metropolitan area and unfortunately our farmland became vacant. But now, with the opening of our agricultural high school in our Büyüktuzhisar neighborhood, the food crisis that will arise in the future, especially our children living in the villages, who are interested in this field, they are more aware of farming, There is no space, how to plant specific products for the region and how to plant products in our schools. We aim to use our fields more efficiently. We believe that schools should be completed especially for our students who are engaged in agriculture, and who want to take higher education in this department and who want to benefit from the benefits of extra points. We have 49 students here, but the capacity of this school is about 800. We invite our students to do more conscious farming. Especially our 49 students who came here today have shown themselves and worked in our case. Kusum trees have been planted here and from here we will get about 5 tons of Kusum oil and it will contribute to the production of raw materials in our country. We believe that development will start from the village. We have already urbanized and we believe that development will accelerate when the young people here practice conscious agriculture and show interest in it. We believe this will solve this food crisis and we invite all our young people to our school.
Mentioning that students studying in the village should like these sections, 11th class student Hawa Nur Topchu said, “My story of entering this school, my family is already a farmer. There is a farming tradition inherited from ancestors and grandparents. I chose this school to help them and to apply what I have learned in my own case in a more knowledgeable way. Here, corn is planted, beets are planted, yolks are planted. Barley and wheat are also planted, but they work a little smaller. If there is an anchor, we will anchor it during our work process. Then the pipes are aligned. Irrigation is done, lines are changed. Finally, it is collected and disassembled. What our school has done for us is truly great. We see activities in areas suitable for agriculture. I advise the students studying in the village to choose these departments, ”he said.
Mostafa Kan Basar, a student at the school, said they had benefited from the school’s opportunities and said, “I came here to study in the Sariogan district. I chose this because our school has a laboratory department and my family is a farmer. I want to use the facilities of the school and we are using it. We value our field and the information we learn in school when we care for our animals. I also recommend it to our friends who will come to our school. I especially recommend it to farming children. “
Osama Mustafa, one of the students, said he was involved in both animal husbandry and agriculture and applied the knowledge he had learned in school to the field, adding: I chose this high school because I am engaged in animal husbandry and field work. We take information from the school and apply it to the fields. Our department is a very beautiful and unique department, and the people living in the village have to learn in school and do what they learn in the field, “he said.
