Symphony of the Dead Review – Personal Review

When I first saw the book, I wondered how an author could give such a beautiful name, and as I read, I realized that this story is the story of some unfortunate people who carry endless death on their backs, who bring that madman to everyone. Looking for death in their lives? Don’t have an “intellectual”? The dreams that everyone kills with their own hands? Aren’t we the “intellectuals” whose lives are being brutally murdered? Isn’t life a symphony of death? (Sepi Rena)

Symphony of the Dead is like breaking up a family. In fact, it’s about throwing everyone in the family aside and letting each other experience the illness in their own lives. A woman (mother) who cannot speak in front of a man (father), an older brother Yusuf, who fell ill with a hopeless disease, Aidin who left instead of living because of his father’s complaint and his will. Her love of reading, who leaves home like her twin brother Aidin, but who does it for a different purpose, and so, sister Aida, who was declared abusive, Orhan, who could not get out of the house father’s orbit, and, in a sense, , Authoritarian father. The weather here is harsh and under snow. Even crows sing about snow. The feeling of loneliness brought on by the harsh winter weather is something experienced for this family. The war is going on outside. The father has a conservative attitude towards the enlightened personality. A mother wants to keep her children under her wings, but she is afraid. Despite all his tyranny and trying to keep his family the way he wanted, Dad lives alone. Symphony of the Dead deals with the tossing of each member of a family. There is love between them. Perhaps this love is the last hope of the Symphony of the Dead. (Sidr Ronahi)

I read it with great interest in terms of fluency and subject matter, but the half of the events and topics and the complexity of the time made it a bit difficult .. I will read other books by Abbas Marufi. Then maybe I will have a clearer idea about the author and his writing. (Murat Bolat)
